◇ Block printing is a traditional Indian craft where patterns such as flowers and plants are dyed one by one onto fabric using hand-carved wooden blocks.
I encountered this when I lived in India and was deeply impressed by the warmth of the artisans' handwork.

◇ Kantha quilts are traditionally made by women in Indian households who gather and layer old sarees and other fabrics, then embroider them with sashiko (Kantha) to reuse them, a testament to the wisdom of traditional living.
