Cloisonné Matcha Tea Bowl (Large, Small, Jujube)
206.25 $
Description
Cloisonné Matcha Tea Bowl. A pale yellow tea bowl, unique to cloisonné ware, with a metal ring around the rim to prevent chipping. It is quite beautiful and comes with a paulownia wood box. It is likely a masterpiece from the early Showa period. It is inscribed as Made by Tamura, 2nd generation, but with only the surname Tamura, it is difficult to identify the specific master craftsman as there are many. However, judging by the paulownia box and wrapping cloth, it appears to be a fine piece.
