Iwami Kagura Mask, Kagura Mask, Jūra
198.00 $
Description
This is a Jyoramen mask, a character from Iwami Kagura, custom-made from clay by a mask maker in Shimane Prefecture. It was made about 12-13 years ago. The distinctive feature of this mask is the wavy pattern on the eyebrows. I believe it's a rare mask.
Recently, the eyebrows, forehead, and the black parts of the hair have been repainted by the mask maker. The finish is beautiful. It is unused and comes with a wooden board.
Mask dimensions: Approximately 31 cm (height) x 22 cm (width)
Board dimensions: Approximately 45 cm (height) x 36 cm (width)
