Antique Ceramic English Decorative Pitcher 1892 Home Accent Hand Painted

This pitcher has no brand mark just this number on the bottom. This is a British design number which I was able to trace be assigned approx 1892. For added research I conntacted a Ceramics musuem in England, this is their reply : Unfortunately, we have been unable to attribute the jug in question to a particular maker, however, the Registered Design number impressed into the jug’s base, if I’m correct, reads 185218 which dates the design to March 1865. Therefore, we can say with some certainly that the jug must date to after March 1865. If I had to estimate a window of production, I would say between 1865 – 1890. The jug is also most likely a product of North Staffordshire (Stoke-on-Trent). Has a very nicely done surface painting hand done. 6 1/2 inches high 6 1/2 inches wide with spout to handle 3 1/4 base diameter For 134 years this vase is in very good condition. There are no marks and no cracks. Just think of the wars and other historical events this piece has gone thru and still exists today. On a personal note, one item of research showed may have been done in the Staffaford area of England. It was at this time my Grandmother came over from that area. What story if this one like this was once in the home she grew up in or came over with her. This vase will definately set the tone for any room place it in. From a smoke free home. Thank you for looking! loc/nh9/8226
